Marissa is the adopted daughter of Roqueza Fernandez Maestrado (Puring) and Jose E. Flores. Puring is the daughter of Maria, one of the children of Pedro Fernandez of Balingoan.
Marissa was born to Josefina, also called Inday (daughter of Ruffa, sister of Maria) and her first husband, Benjamin Abian.
